Niloofar(She/They) is a UI/UX designer, Visual artist, and creative technologist. Educated as a photographer primarily, she joined the Digital Futures program at OCAD U to add the magic of science and technologies to their art practices and materials she captured during their life as a photographer and visual artist. Having a feminist point of view she believes in nature's intelligence, and she thinks humans need to learn from this harmony of art and science and try to save this harmony and replicate it in their design practices to be the natural extension of that nature.
She is skilled in designing immersive interactive experiences/ installations and e-wearables. Her passion for literature, history and philosophy infused her designated installations with these qualities most of which explore concepts of consciousness, diaspora and unity. She is skilled in designing e-wearables that could be game controllers or MIDI controllers. In her last fourth year at OCAD University, she was working on designing MIDI (Music Interface device ), and she succeeded in designing different MIDI wearables and integrating them with games and Software like Touch Designer to control visuals and audio. In these projects, she used the high-end abilities of smart microcontrollers like IOT, wireless connection and IR messages. She is the co-founder of two Toronto-based collectives, KOMITE and Lilies of Mars, which they are curating, creating and operating exhibitions, installations and art-culture-related activities.
