Niloofar(she/They) is a multidisciplinary artist, and her experimental practices in photography and video art have been formed on the verge of documentary and fine art. Inspired by Persian poets like Rumi(13 century) and Hafez (14 century ), their artworks address concepts such as self-concepts, self-awareness, mental images and memory and their relationships with the body, nutrition and identity.
She believes nature is intelligent and it contains all the concepts within already. We need only to look, understand and learn.
Because they feel the necessity of immigrating ideas and concepts in the form of arts to the digital realm, recently, they joined the digital futures program at OCAD university to improve their ability as a digital artist.
Currently, they are working on a video installation using her digital paintings, based on the mental images of her body, and her body's medical image and with the use of software like unreal engine, photogrammetry and touch designer she succeeds to create a new abstract geographic of the womb. Her future experience in this project would be to make this new abstract geography interactive, with the use of programming, computing and electronic devices.
