DEPARTED (2014)
In the deep and complex patriarchy which leads to Iranian culture and under the Islamic regime pressure, women in Iran should wear a mandatory Hijab. as a girl who experienced this phenomenon and faced it all my childhood and adolescence in that region and deep understanding of what happens when you first Tim you should wear hijab and after that forever you should have it and it limits your life in many ways, although I know many brave women that even with a hijab do many complex works like sports or work at construction. but this mandatory hijab is a symbol of greater injustice and violence against women in Iran. many of us immigrate from Iran and now in our new place, we wear simple clothes but are free to do those things we dreamed of. but departed from our land. in this photo series I have tried to bring up this contradiction and show the contrast
